No card is needed to connect or import. After setup, Stripe collects your card when you choose to go live. You pay nothing that day; $9.99 USD/month begins after the 7-day trial unless you cancel.

Billing
What happens when the trial ends?
A paid plan keeps the archive available to members. Healthy connected sources continue processing supported content until the admin disconnects them. One plan covers one archive and supports up to 250,000 messages and 5 GB of media per community.
What happens at an archive limit?
The launch plan includes 5 GB of preserved media. At that limit, messages and text keep syncing, existing media stays available, and new files, images, and voice notes are shown as not preserved until you contact support. The 250,000-message figure is our supported launch envelope, not a silent message cutoff.
Can I cancel?
Yes, anytime. On cancellation, your archive is deleted on request. To cancel, delete data, or request a copy, email aleks@community-archives.com.

Does Community Archives post anything to my chat?
No. Community Archives imports selected content and does not send chat messages back into the community.
What gets imported, and what doesn't?
The available history from the WhatsApp groups or Slack channels you select, plus supported media up to 5 GB. One-to-one WhatsApp message content is not archived. The source coverage matrix lists what each provider allows.
Can I archive both WhatsApp and Slack?
Yes. One archive can connect both WhatsApp and Slack (up to two of each), and one plan covers the whole archive. All sources share the archive's message and media allowance.

How do members sign in?
Public archives need no sign-in. Members-only readers verify through WhatsApp or Slack. Invite-only readers use a single-use secure sign-in link sent to an administrator-invited email address. There is no new password to create.
Who can read the archive?
Admins choose the archive's visibility: Public, Members-only, or Invite-only. Members-only access verifies source membership through WhatsApp or Slack. Invite-only access verifies an administrator-invited email address through a secure sign-in link.
Will you ever sell my community's data?
No. Not as training data, not to advertisers, not aggregated, not anonymized. We make money from subscriptions. Full stop.

I built Community Archives because I was frustrated seeing years of useful conversations in my community groups getting lost.
I run this project independently, and I want it to last. You're trusting me with things that can't be re-created, so I take that seriously.
I charge a fair price from day one so I can keep the service running. You have full control of your data, so you can export or delete it at any point you want.
